Some of the most Effective Strikes

The Long Range Punch: The punch is launched in a straight line forwardly aimed directly towards the jaw concentrating most of the punch on the fore and middle finger knuckles. It is a really effective strike.

The Sword Cut: And it is one of the most important hits used frequently by Kung Fu players. You stiffen your hand, palm open, and hit the area between the neck and shoulder. Most of the nerves and veins coming out of the brain concentrate here, so it’s really dangerous.

The Elbow Strike: It is considered one of the strongest hits as it’s main use is in close-range engagement. It does not need too much muscle effort as it is strong in itself, but it does need precise timing and aiming for maximum effectiveness. It comes in several forms:

1- Swift side strike. 2- Bottom to top. 3- Opposite (eg. with left elbow from left to right, with right elbow from right to left.) It is mainly directed towards the head, stomach, and the back.

Some of the most effective Kicks

The Frontal Kick: This kick is performed by lifting the knee to form a 90 degree angle and lift the foot up swiftly. Leaning back while kicking and keeping your balance is preferred because you need to keep a distance between you and your opponent.

The Side Kick: This kick is used in offence and defense alike. In offence it is aimed to 3 main places: The Head, Stomach, and bottom of body and trunk. In defense it is used mainly to cripple the advance of your opponent.

How to Break out of a Head-Lock

Suppose someone is head-locking you, what would you do? What is supposed to be done is simple: Twist your head to the left side and try to poke your opponent in the eye or in this face generally with your nails. If that dosen’t do it then a back kick on his shin will give him some serious pain to deal with.

These are just some basic moves to remember when encountering an invader. Please excuse my english if there are any mistakes and remember, click on that “I Like It” button if you learned anything new from this guide and Thank You.
