Competition

Why do we always have to compete?

Why is it that everything in life is a competition?  We sell items, and we compete to see who can sell more and who is the better salesman.  Martial arts competitions are to see who the better fighters are.  Race car drivers compete to see who is the better, and so on and so forth.

But why?  Why do we have to compete so that there is a winner and a loser?  The winner gets to live like a king, yet the loser gets all the shame and ridicule and treated like crap.  I say it’s not right, it takes a lot of guts to get in the ring, or the car, or to sell to people, etc.

They have more guts than the audience or fans put together.  As a fighter, I didn’t see any of the fans in the cage with me or my opponent, so why tease the loser?  Even the losers are possibly more well trained than the audience, so why tick off the loser?  Most times it’s very dangerous because they’re already mad that they lost, so why would a person in the crowd want to push his luck?
