Anderson Silva, the middleweight champion of the UFC is moving up to light heavy weight for the second time. His first fight in the light heavy weight division was vs. James “The Sandman” Irvin which lasted one minute in the first round due to knockout. On August 8, 2009, UFC 101, Anderson Silva and the former light-heavy weight champion Forrest Griffin will battle it out.  Forrest Griffin has a rock chin and doesn’t give up, which may make the fight go all three rounds.

Dana White was embarresed by Silva’s last fight vs. Thales Leites which lasted all five rounds with hardly any action. He said “I as a fan didn’t like what I saw (at UFC 97) and I wasn’t kidding when I said I wanted to walk out of the building because of how embarrassed I am. But I can tell you this: I’m going to be counting the days until this fight.”

This will be one of the toughest fights for Silva but time will come when he holds both the middle weight belt and the light-heavy weight belt.
