Moral Lessons in Life

These are some things that I have learned from, and hopefully you can learn from them as well.

  1. I would say that Jesus is the born Son of God. He is my Savior, Redeemer, and Almighty King.
  1. The big thing that happened to me as a teenager that was really positive is I decided to play football and dedicated myself to that in high school. Sports are a huge commitment and if I was an older person telling the story of my experiences up to this point I would say that I had loads of fun, but there was a lot of work for the rewards that I received. Entering the sports world from high school, I’ve had my share of troubles and hard times up to this point. Sometimes you’ll forget about a change in practice time and you’ll almost miss a ride and get into serious trouble. Other times you’ll forget a piece of equipment and have to run back and get it really quickly before the bus leaves or else you’ll lose it forever. I’ve met tons of people through sports. Players and Coaches from the Villanova lacrosse team, other lacrosse players in the Chesmont League, coaches from all over the state, and (with this new program I’m about to do this summer called Black Bear Lacrosse camp) the nation. Though there may seem to be many upsides to playing sports, there are also many downsides. There’s a lot of practice time and work that you have to put into, especially if you want to be really good at the sport, it can be demoralizing and patronizing when you’re trying your hardest and others come out and do better than you on the field, it’s especially bad when you and the team are trying as hard as you can and you lose games on the field against other teams that don’t deserve to win.
  1. B. Some people think that just because a story is in the Bible or is really old, that it can’t apply to today’s life and the “Living Truth” or whatever they call it. When, in truth, all stories in the Bible can be applied to today. I think that the story of Aaron and Mirium getting jealous of their brother Moses is a good story I can learn from the Old Testament. As a apart of a family of 6 people, and 4 children (myself included in there) it can be hard to get attention or whatever you want whenever you ask for it. Life can be tough with this many people in the family, but you learn to cope with it and work through it (another positive that sports teach you). There are many lessons in life that you learn as you go about your business; you just have to pick up on them.
