Successful Deer Hunting
Bag a big one everytime.

Are you envious of all those people you see on television who seem to bag whatever species they are out hunting? Don’t be. Those shows are so fake it would make you sick! They are in no way a real depiction on a true hunting experience. So, what are the tricks to becoming a successful hunter or huntress?
First off, location is everything. Just like in real estate location, location, location. If you are in a state where you must draw a tag to hunt deer, consider very carefully the order of your picks. Your first choice should
ALWAYS be your dream hunt. Try to choose locations where you know that deer a prevalent. When you actually begin hunting, DO NOT hunt where everyone else is! This has been the secret of my success. I hunt in the most unusual locations at the most unusual times. In fact, everyone thinks that I am crazy but I always manage to come up with a very nice deer. Try to think like the deer. The big bucks will sense when the hunt is beginning and will move. So look at the big picture and try to find out where those deer might begin to move once the hunt starts and position yourself in that area.
Next, keep your eyes open. I can’t stress enough about how important it is to have a good set of binoculars and to use them often. I see lots of hunters whom either have a very poor set of binoculars or have a nice set, but fail to use them. Stop often and pick them up and glass all the way around you. You would be surprised at what you can find just by looking. Remember, the deer aren’t going to walk up the truck and jump in, you have to find them.
Finally, throw out everything that you have ever learned about deer hunting. Go out when everyone else is going back to camp. If you get a shot at a nice deer and miss, wait a day or two and go back there again. He will probably be there at exactly the same time, doing exactly the same thing. Those big old deer didn’t get that way by being dumb. Most people who shoot and miss, never return to the same location at the same time because they think that they have scared the deer off. WRONG! The biggest deer I have ever seen is hanging on my wall because I did the unconventional and went back.
