Hunting Albino Deer Should It be Legal or Illegal?

Should we protect the beauties of nature or allow citizens to harvest it?

There are a lot of questions out there on whether it should be legal to kill certian animals or protect certian species. For example, Albino deer. A lot of people out there argue that they are carriers of bad genes and need to be removed before they can spread, while others believe that these beautiful animals should be protected from harm as much as possible. Some states have it illegal for shooting albinos, a large fee if they do. Or in legal states they get their pictures in the newspapers and interviewed on TV. So what’s right and wrong?

First of all, albinos do not carry “bad” genes. The albino trait is recessive but that doesn’t mean recessive in a bad way. It means they carry that gene but it’s rare for it to appear. A bad trait would be an animal born with extra legs or no jaws, or no eyes. The only “bad” thing for albinos is that they are much more noticable to predators and easily seen and killed – another reason why they’re so rare.

But for those who love hunting, should they be banned from shooting such animals? My answer is yes and no. I believe that albino deer (or any albino game) should be protected to a certian point. For example, an albino deer should be protected from being shot until they have at least 10 points with a 12 inch spread. If they are smaller then that, there should be a fee from shooting one. Shooting a young albino deer seems kinda cruel, don’t you think? An older one with larger set of antlers seems more reasonable. It might be hard to pass such laws especially with so many poachers out there. (Which is why I think poachers should go to jail instead of just getting fined.) But if you ask me it’s definitly a reasonable consideration. And I think such laws should be passed all over the world.
