Step 1: Find a sturdy, Y-shaped piece of wood. They can be any size, however 6-9 inches in length, and about a 1-2 inch thickness is recommeneded. Try to find one that is strong, doesn’t have any cracks or anything so that it won’t break.

Step 2: It is recommened that you shave off all the bark so that it is comfortable to hold.

Step 3: Let the wood dry, because if it is not dry then it will snap and it will be stabler and stronger.

Step 4: Get a long, thick rubber band. You can either find one in your house if you have one, or go to your local camping store and purchase one. The best thing to do is either use surgical tubing, or wrap several rubber bands around each other. In the end, it still must be thick, otherwise it won’t be very strong

Step 5: If you are using surgical tubing or several rubber bands you can skip this step. Cut the rubber band in half. Make sure each half is equal length.

Step 6: Get a piece of leather/strong cloth that is rectangular in shape. This will be your pocket (where you place your ammo when firing). You can get the piece of leather from a tongue of a leather shoe.

Step 7: Make two slits on each edge/side of the leather. They should be big enough for your rubber band/surgical tubing, etc to fit through. Try and make it parallel from each other and equal distance from the closest edge.

Step 8: Put one end of the rubber band through one slit and fold it back over the rubber band so it makes a loop. Use a thin rubber band to secure the loop. Do the same with the other rubber band through the other slit. The rubber bands should still be equal length.

Step 9: Put one end of the rubber band and leather pocket section around one side of the V part of the Y-shaped piece of wood, and secure it with a thin rubber band, or electrical tape, etc. Do the same with the other end of the rubber band and leather pocket section around the other side of the V part of the Y-shaped piece of wood and secure it.

Step 10: Fire! Ammo you can use can be: scrunched up pieces of paper, small rocks, any other ball shaped thing that fits on the pouch that isn’t too heavy. Don’t hold the slingshot up to your eye when you are shooting otherwise it might shoot back and hit your eye. Also, never shoot at a person with a hard object.
