Remington 700 30-06
When you picture in your mind a deer rifle whether you have seen it on television or in a gun show you are probably picturing the Remington 700 30-06. This is the best deer rifle that is on the market to date. If you order this rifle from the Remington web site you have a choice form classic beauty walnut stock and blued steel barrel. Or a camo synthetic that combines lightweight with strength and stealth, with the synthetic there are several options from a great stone color for hunting in the mountains to a green camouflage that is great for all of you up in the northeast. All the way to a desert/ grass color that is perfect for a hay blind. This is the most accurate rifle that I have ever shot for under $1500. This is also a rifle that you can trust used as it will stand up to the test of time. The bolt action will never jam and is smooth so that you don’t Have to take your eyes off your target.

Winchester Model 70 .270
The Winchester model 70 is one of the most accurate rifles that I have ever shot, just behind the Remington 700. This rifle is slightly more expensive so it is a good rifle if $1,000 is not a lot of money to you. This gun comes in several calibers ranging from 243 win to a 325 WSM but I find that a .270 is one of the best calibers. You can kill the dear without blowing too big a hole in it and it is just high enough that if just miss the vitals you still will get a good blood trail. This rifle also has very smooth action and several different stock that you can get. It is a great buy and I would definitely recommend buying it.
Kimber 84m Classic .308 win
This is the lightest and best handling rifle that I have ever shot. It is made of two things and two things only. Steen and Walnut wood. This rifle is here to lasts the tests of time. It also carries the inherent beauty that can only be found in classic American rifle. Great action although it is not quite as smooth as the previous two that I mention. It weighs approximately 5lbs 10oz. It is a great second rifle for someone to own and I would highly recommend it.
Browning A-bolt Medallion .270 win
Yes another bolt action rifle. This is another great rifle and it is hard for me to put it so low in my top five the action is (although I commented as very smoother) smoother than any of the previous ones that I had mention although slightly less reliable and requires maintenance with excessive cleaning. I would choose the .270 again for the reasons mention with the Winchester 70. The rifle has a high gloss walnut rosewood stock and is a prettiest rifle to look at and even better to shoot. It weighs 6lbs and 11oz and I would recommend as a second rifle because of the upkeep.

Remington 7600 .270
Yet again a .270 but not another bolt action, this rifle is pump that is great because you never have to remotely take your eye off of the target to fire although this rifle is more prone to jam than the others. That is only what I hear personally I have never had mine jam. It had a Monte Carlo Walnut stock with A high glass satin finish. For years this was my exclusive deer rife until I bought my 700. There is also an option for a grey synthetic stock though I prefer the classic and that is what I own. It has a four load magazine ideal for anyone who is a not a great shot. This is the cheapest rifle in the list and is a good rifle if you are buying for you son or daughters first rifle.
