The Great Indian Hockey

Hockey is the national game of India. It made India known in the world of sports. It is the only game which has won maximum gold medals for India. It was the game which had made Indians proud. It was the game which gave Indians an identity.

But now this game has died. The great Indian hockey players are no more and there successors are so weak that they couldn’t even manage to qualify for Olympics.

There are several reasons to this:

First of all, today players do not work as hard as they used to do back in the 20th century. They are also busy in doing fashion and making money. They are no more patriotic.

Secondly, the chief of Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) is not good at all. Under his guidance, hockey team couldn’t manage to win even a single gold medal in Olympics. He is the worst chief of all times. He is very partial. He is also very corrupt and shameless. It is because of him that Indian hockey is in such a bad state.

Finally, the management is very corrupt. They select bootlickers and not the true players. In this way, they not only degrade the quality of the team but also affect the confidence and approach of future players. They set the wrong examples in front of the kids who now believe that to enter hockey political power is needed and not the quality.

So, in my opinion, rebirth of hockey is possible if all the bugs of the Indian hockey are thrown out.
