As Pittsburgh entered game 6, they knew that the Stanley Cup Playoffs were on the line. In last year’s Cup final, the Wings won game 6 (at Pittsburgh), which as you could imagine, was both devastating to the team, and the fans. This year, however, the Pens played with a force which could only be matched by the Wings, and even then, it was quite hard for the Red Wings to stay in the game.

Staal and Kennedy both helped the Pens win Game 6, both scoring a goal off a rebound given up by Osgood. In all 6 games of this years Stanley Cup finals, the home teams have won. What does this say? Well it proves that home ice advantage can make the difference in any game.

Game 6 was well fought by the Pens. They knew they had to keep their chances alive, for both the fans and themselves. This presents a great opportunity for the Penguins leaders, Crosby and Malkin. Though both have been having some trouble getting on the scoresheet as of late, both can also help boost their team to a victory and game 7, and hoist the prestigious Stanley Cup! We all know that they’ve been outstanding during the regular season — can they show us why they’re feared by many goalies?

And lastly, who do you think will be the “MVP” this year? Both teams have some great candidates! This series, though at the beginning didn’t seem like it’d really be something to watch, has turned into a real series. Both teams are fighting it out, and the fact that they faced last year and were in the same positions (basically) shows that this will be a key rivalry in the years to come.
