Hockey Day in Canada

Today is a big day in Canadian history and heritage with that being it is hockey day in Canada.  It is a triple header of games along with talking about Canadian programs that are taking place in relation to hockey.  The first game consists of “The Montreal Canadians” versus “The Ottawa Senators.”  This game is taking place in Ottawa and they are a big favourite going for their 9th straight win, which would be a first in franchise history.  On the other end of the spectrum you have Montreal who has had difficulty scoring goals five on five and has had some questionable goal tending.  Look for Ottawa to take this game fairly easily.  The second game of the triple header is taking place in Toronto.  This game consists of “The Toronto Maple Leafs” and “The Vancouver Canucks.” Toronto had played a game on Friday which went to overtime, so look for them to be tired playing their second game in 24 hours.  The Canucks on the other hand are hot and looking for their 7th straight win.  Look for the Sedin’s and Burrows to lead the way for the Canucks on route to the victory.  The final game on the triple header is “The Edmonton Oilers” Versus “The Calgary Flames.”  Calgary is on a 9 game slide and is looking to end that streak against Edmonton tonight on home ice.  Edmonton sitting in last place in the west also has not been playing very good hockey as of late and are looking to foil Calgary’s plans tonight.  This game is going to be relatively close however, look for the flames to end their slide tonight as they have lost their last two in the shoot out almost getting the win.
