Amazing gymnasts in very flexible positions.

Gymnasts have always amazed me – both male and female. They are so flexible, so elegant, talented and disciplined. I share a few photos below of lady gymnasts. It’s amazing to see the challenging positions they get into.

1) I am wondering how her waist and back feels after getting up from this position. She has really stretched her body.

2) It’s surprising that she can still smile, while staying in this position. A very gifted gymnast indeed.

3) What technique is used to pull your leg backwards and over your head? It seems like magic to me. Another talented young girl.

4) I have to admit, the first time I saw this photo I actually tilted my head sideways to see how it looked upside down. This is truly amazing.

5) Such an elegant and graceful pose.

So, now we’ve some flexible positions, it would be nice to have some practice to keep our bodies agile. I’m up for it but you the reader go first. I’ll do them later on. :)

A subject near and dear to my heart. My youngest niece is a gymnast. Beautiful and amazing photos.

I really enjoyed this post. I was an artistic gymnastics coach for twenty years and I can tell you that it takes a lot of body conditioning and flexibility exercises to achieve these positions.

I’m still learning to do the split! … achieved it almost 90% if my left leg is in front and the right leg at the back. If it’s the other way around, about 60% only LOL! We do that in Taiji just to stretch the hips further :-)

ps..I wish I have studied gymnastics when I was very young. Would be cool to be able to do those flexible moves :-)
