Tiger Woods has had by his standards a disappointing season thus far despite being what would be career years for most card holders. It is amazing that Tiger Woods has built his reputation to the point where not winning a major in a year is considered a disappointment. There has never been a golfer before to accomplish such a feat. He seems to win tournaments with ease and posseses such talent and poise unriveled by any other player on the PGA. What also sets Tiger so far apart from anybody else in history is his personality. There are few people, in golf or any other sport, who can win and lose so graciously. He has the perfect swing, he is a role model for millions, and he shattered whatever was left of the black sports barrier left in professional American sports and he has done all of this so well that having a second place finish is a disappointment. Watching Tiger limp of the tee box at a major championship while using his driver as a crutch and still managing to win the tournament was the most awe inspiring things I have ever witnessed in sports. Tiger is a phenomenal athlete and one who will be forever talked about as not only the best golfer of all time but also the classiest. And for those of us who had the pleasure of watching Tiger in his prime, we will always remember his legacies and how daunting a task it is to beat Tiger while he is wearing his famous red shirt on Sunday.

I’ll agree with your assessment to a certain extent that Tiger oneday could go down as one of the greatest golfers of alltime. But you have to consider the fact that his career is far from finished, and he still has a ways to go. Jack Nicklaus left a pretty impressive resume for Tiger and all others to follow. Jack not only won 18 major championships, but he finished second about thirty times in others during his career. Plus Jack over the last 15 years of his career played sparingly on tour other than major championships. He spent more time with outside interests such as designing golf courses all over the world, plus raising a huge family. So time will tell how Tiger will be remembered in the record books, and he has about 15 more years of competitive golf before we hand the title to him as the best of alltime best. Well done and good article.
