Winter is a terrible time for most golfers’ game. Many golfers don’t get to play or only get to play once a month or visit the driving range and putting green. I bought Hole in One Pilates Taking Pilates Techniques Onto the Golf Course because it promised to increase flexibility and strength, two main body improvements that result in longer shots and more control. Here’s what I learned about this two DVD set:

About Hole in One Pilates Taking Pilate Techniques Onto the Golf Course First DVD

The first DVD in the two DVD Hole in One Pilates set is very basic. You learn breathing techniques, abdomen techniques, and basic stretches and how they are used during some golf shots. Most golfers will be able to do any of the exercises on this DVD. Golfers that use these techniques will want to have a golf club near at hand. A stretch band is also useful but not required.

About Hole in One Pilates Taking Pilate Techniques Onto The Golf Course Second DVD

The second DVD in the two DVD Hole in One Pilates set is an intermediate class. It teaches all of the exercises used in a forty-five minute workout. All of the exercises that are shown are demonstrated for the moderately flexible and flexible golfer. Most golfers that use these exercises will want a yoga or cushioned exercise mat. The exercises shown are probably not appropriately practiced on the golf course, but the exercise shown is related to the muscles used and how it affects given parts of the golf stroke.

About the Hole in One Pilates DVD Techniques that are Used on the Golf Course

Most of the exercises that a golfer will use on the golf course involve warm up stretches that are done stand alone, with the golf cart or with a golf club. The tape suggests that a golfer use them while waiting for their turn to golf. Most of them are demonstrated on tape one of the Hole in One Pilates set.

About the Hole in One Pilates DVD Workout

The Hole in One Pilates Workout is the last part of the second DVD in the Hole in One Pilates set. It is set up so that you can play it stand alone. The exercises are shown mostly lying down on the floor and work on muscles in the legs, arms, abdomen and back. Some are more challenging than what I would do and I am 51 and in moderate shape.

What Golfers with Limited Flexibility or Strength Will Learn from the Hole in One Pilates DVD

Golfers with limited flexibility will learn good stretches for warm up on the golf course from the first DVD.

What Golfers with Some Flexibility and Strength Will Learn from the Hole in One Pilates DVD

Golfers with moderate flexibility will learn a workout that can improve their flexibility and strength on the golf course and will likely have sore muscles following the workout. The first DVD will help reinforce how to use the breathing and abdominal control during golf shots.

What Golfers with Good Flexibility and Strength Will Learn from the Hole in One Pilates DVD

Golfers with good flexibility and strength will learn how to target their muscles with workout exercises to build increased strength or flexibility to help their game.

Will I Use the Hole in Pilates Taking Pilates DVD Techniques On The Golf Course More than Once?

Yes, it has many exercises that I learned in ballet and in yoga, the workout has more exercises that I use in my normal workout. Overall, I think the Hole in One Pilates Taking Pilates onto the Golf Course is a well put together set of DVDs that most golfers will enjoy, although most of the DVD and exercise use will be in the home.

Pilates is really a fantastic way to stay fit, and I found it to have been incredibly beneficial on a personal level. But recently, I read this article (http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/showlink.aspx?bookmarkid=J5FPDV39U0E7&preview=article&linkid=bf45c49c-086b-43c9-a819-efc7ce20e30b&pdaffid=ZVFwBG5jk4Kvl9OaBJc5%2bg%3d%3d) and frankly, I’m amazed at the amount some of these trainers charge for a workout. Can anybody tell my whether it’s really a better workout system, or just the rich aiming the rice? $130 a workout? REALLY?

…must be some magic dust I’m missing out on or something for such a pretty penny, eh?
