The Cardinals had the Cubs, Astros, and the Brewers on their tail. But now the with the additions of Mark DeRosa, Julio Lugo, and most important Matt Holiday the Cardinals are now the clear cut favorite to win the NL Central.Here are some reasons why these guys I just mentioned will help.
Mark DeRosa: Mark Derosa gives you a utility player who can play second and third and outfield and he gives a decent bat that can give you 20 hr 300. avg and about 80 RBI’s.
Julio Lugo: Julio Lugo just gives you a extra bench player who can plays average defense and has a okay bat and he could give the Cardinals starting shortstop a day off when he needs it and you wont loss much when he’s not playing.
Matt Holiday: To me and to all the other Cardinal fans this is obviously without a doubt the most important move Mark DeRosa and Julio Lugo are okay but Matt Holiday is a really good hitter and he protects your most important player Albert Pujols in the lineup so you should see Albert getting more hits because the pitchers knows there are consenquences when you walk him.
