Are you kidding me? there is no question which of these is the biggest rivalry. UM-OSU by a landslide. lets look at the statistics.

Espn names it as the greatest rivalry in ALL OF SPORTS

Two of the top 5 teams (in terms of all time Division 1 wins) face off every year

These two teams ARE BIG TEN FOOTBALL

Between the two they have won about 19 national championships.

UT vs UF is the most significant game, in the most important conference, each year.

I think it depends on the era the rivalry is played. Once upon a time Miami-florida State was the top rivarly. Definetely in the 80,s and part of the 90s. they were usually the top programs andthe national title was won or lost by those schools or playing them. Now their is nothing on the line when then play since both teams have taken a nose dive. i don't believe any rivalry can claim to be the best, it just depends on the era. Michigan- Notre dame was a great rivalry, but what is at stake now??? Notre dame -USC was great as well, but now it is just USC dominace. Florida-UGA is still and always has been a great rivalry (the worlds biiggest cocktail party). All of the rivalrys mentioned above are great, but no rivalry can claim to be the best forever.

If we are talking rivalry on a national level then Michigan(#1 all-time in wins)vs Notre Dame(#3 all-time in wins)has to be in the list.

And I agree with many who said Texas-Texas A&M since they have played 115 times in the state that's known for great football.

Oh give me a break! I lived in Columbus for 5 years and the OSU/Mich game is tantamount to two metrosexuals arguing over pleated pants!!

I was born in Alabama and that's where I live now. And there is not a game in the world like Alabama/Auburn. You can call us rednecks if you want to, and you can make fun of the fact that people have been beaten, divorced, and shot over the outcome of this game. But you can not deny that, come Saturday, every pure-bred Alabamian will have that game on. Not to mention that "Baptist" might very well be a fancy Bible word for "Alabama Fan".

One last thing...when you come to Alabama, you better watch what you wear. I have never owned - nor will I ever own - an orange & blue shirt. Take my advice and pick a team before you move here and be prepared to be 100% committed to your choice. Because you *will* be asked who you're loyal to and you *will* be required to answer. And no, we don't take, "I'm not from here, so I don't care." The response is likely to be, "Then get the hell out."

By the way...ROLL.DAMN.TIDE.!

Here is a small school rivalry I'm sure 99% of you have never heard of. Valley City State vs Jamestown College. They play in the Dakota Athletic Conference. They will meet for the 105th time this Saturday (11-8-08). They have played non-stop since 1909.

I agree with Barry(post#84).
While Georgia Tech doesnt have our hearts, we will pull for them to win against most any team except Georgia.

But we will always pull for anyone playing the Gators, no matter what.

If you have never been to a UGA -Florida game, then by all means go! Its something everyone should experience at least once...

After attending, you will never again have to ask, what is the greatest rivalry in College Football!!
