Former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry has sensationally been arrested in an alleged drug selling operation.
On 16th September 2008 a trooper and DEA agent stopped a car that was carrying about three kilograms of cocaine and a substantial amount of marijuana.
The passenger said that he had been instructed to deliver the drugs to various addresses by Henry.
After being further quizzed by cops the passenger agreed to set up a meeting with Henry and another man, James Mack, where officers lay in wait and Henry was arrested on drugs charges.
After signing a $22.5 million contract with the broncos in 2007 Henry was released from the team earlier this summer for what is believed to be poor performances in training.
His future in the NFL now looks bleak to say the least.

Hi, Wizard, “bleak” is an understatement! What a sad turn of events. And a sad life. Listen to my Travis Henry story. In August I took my three boys to a day at the Broncos training camp. We had a great time. Afterwards, we went to the little shop they had set up. Most of the merchandise was beyond my ability to pay, especially the good stuff like the jerseys. But guess what was on sale? Travis Henry jerseys. The Broncos had just come him loose a week earlier. Guess who saw the cheap price on the jersey on wanted to buy it? My 9 year old son. I had a decision to make. I was already upset that the Broncos were still trying to profit from Henry’s name, although they had deemed him unworthy of a place on the roster. And what father wants to say ‘no’ to his son, especially at Broncos camp! So I asked my oldest son what he thought. His response? “No, Dad, don’t buy it.” So I told my youngest son that Henry had been cut because the Coach Shanahan didn’t think he was a team player. Fortunately, my youngest son was fine with that. Way ’til he hears this latest arrest news. Looks like we made the right decision.
Hi Brian,
It is a shame but unfortunately stories like these about sports players in every profession are becoming more common. What I don’t understand is why people who earn so much money need to ruin their lives by playing Russian Roulette with the law.
I am glad that your son understands what happened and is not too disappointed with not getting the jersey. Personally, I would not like to buy merchandise that contained the name of a player who no longer plays for the team. In my opinion the jerseys should have been withdrawn from sale as soon as Henry left.
Honestly, I think they like to play Russian Roulette because that money goes straight to their heads. Once they get money, oh my God,it’s like they can do what ever they want because that’s how their treated. It doesn’t matter where you come from as long as you have money then you’re above every one else. Paris Hilton, drinking and driving how many times? Lyndsey Lohan, oh where do I start. Mike Tyson, now there’s a biggy. It never ends, it’s like they get money and get stupid. Anyhow, Brian Stankich asked me to check you out and I am so glad I did. I love your article. It was clear and to the point. Thanks, it was well worth the read.
Hi Debra, thank you for your comment.
You make a very valid point. We could draw up a never-ending list of celebrities who think they are above the law. But do they really deserve their names in print anymore than they already are?
I am sure we will see many more articles about this sort of thing in the future.
Sad but true.
