It is only right to start with the defending Super Bowl Champs.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are loaded and are gunning for another shot at the Super Bowl.  The Steelers have many offensive weapons, and a superb defense.  They showed that defenses win championships.

New England Patriots

With Tom Brady returning after being injured for the whole ‘08-’09 season, the Patriots are definitely favorites for contending this season.  Patriots have been a force in the NFL for the past five or so years.  They are looking to return to that 16-0 form they had two seasons ago.

New York Giants

The New York Giants are hoping to get back to the Super Bowl after being one year absent.  With a good running game, a pro bowl quarterback, and a solid defensive unit the NY Giants are favorites entering the 2009-2010 season.

Indianapolis Colts

With Peyton Manning at quarterback any team has a chance to be good.  Even though he has lost his go-to wide receiver, Marvin Harrison, Manning still has many weapons to work with.  The Colts defense, led by Bob Sanders, is up to the task to carry them deep into the playoffs.

Minnesota Vikings

With the best run defense in the league, the best running back in the league, and now arguably one of the game’s best quarterbacks ever, the Minnesota Vikings have to be considered a top contender.  The Vikings roster is full of future, past, and present pro bowlers.  In a nutshell, if the Vikings reach their potential they could go very deep into the playoffs.
