Tom Cable

Tom Cable is the current interim Head Coach of The Oakland Raiders and was hired after owner Al Davis fired head coach Lane Kiffin on the 30th of September 2008.

NFL

In 2006 Tom Cable got his first coaching job in the NFL when he became the Offensive Line coach of the Atlanta Falcons under Head Coach Jim Mora.

In 2007 Tom Cable was appointed the Offensive Line coach of The Oakland Raiders which he helped to make the Raiders rushing offense one of the best in the NFL. In 2007 The Raiders finished the season with the sixth most rushing yards in the NFL, this was thanks to Tom Cables help coaching the Offensive Line. Cable quickly made a name for himself and in September 2008 he became the Head Coach of The Raiders.

Tom Cable has 21 years of coaching experience including 10 years as an Offensive Line coach and four as a Head Coach. On Sunday 12th October 2008 he lost his first game as Raiders head coach 34-3.

Playing Football

Tom Cable played on the Offensive Line for the Idaho Vandals (University of Idaho). He also played football for Snohomish High School in Washington. During a brief period between 1984 and 1986 Tom started as a guard for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. After that Tom Cable began his coaching career as a graduate assistant in Idaho.
