There isn’t much Steve Spurrier hasn’t done in the world of football.   All American.  Heisman winner.  Member of the college football hall of fame.  10 year NFL career.  National champion coach.  And now, after returning the university of South Carolina to football prominence, the old ball coach is walking through the one door he has yet to pass through;  retirement.

The numbers speak for themselves; more than 200 wins, an almost 80% winning percentage, pages of awards.  And the fact that Spurrier was perhaps one of the most innovative minds in the history of college football.

No press conference has been scheduled as of yet, but a short press release was issued from the university, saying that After years of immeasurable contributions to the university of South Carolina and the world of college football, coach Steve Spurrier has announced his intention to move on to the world after football, and a short list of his career accomplishments.
