This 2009 season has been crazy! So many upsets and amazing comebacks. Alabama at number 1 for half of the season then two loses in a row against Florida and Utah. Iowa beating ending Penn State’s undefeated season with a last second field goal. Utah busting the BCS!
The National Championship I felt was a disappointment. It was all hyped up to be a great game, but I thought both Florida and Oklahoma didn’t look that good. Even Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford a Heisman Trophy finalist and the Heisman Trophy winner looked bad in the first half of play. In the first half they combined for a total of 3 interceptions. Both quarterbacks started to get some rhythm in the 2nd half, but still wasn’t their normal selves. After a low scoring game, Florida won 24-14.
Utah busted the BCS for the second time. Utah could have beat both Oklahoma and Florida, but because Florida won the National Championship it’s pretty stupid if someone ends up in front of them in the polls. Utah was lead by a strong senior quarterback Brian Johnson; with a strong defence with Paul Kruger at defensive end and Sean Smith at cornerback. This team was truely the best team in the Nation this season. They won’t be number 1 because the horrible BCS won’t put a non-BCS conference team in the Nation Championship; even if they were one of the two remaining undefeated teams (other was Boise State who lost to TCU in the Poinsetta Bowl).
I am all ready excited for the 2010 college football season. I hope it will be as exciting as this amazing football season!
