Playboy’s Road to The Super Bowl

February 4, 2012: The Big Game is right around the corner. For you football fans we’re talking about the Super Bowl.

And who is better to get us ready for the Big Game than Playboy? Watching this video I learned: The Super Bowl was created as part of a merger agreement between the National Football League (NFL) and its then rival, the American Football League (AFL). It was agreed that the two leagues’ champion teams would play in an AFL- NFL World Championship Game until the merger was to officially begin in 1970. The first game was played on January 15, 1967 between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers won that game 35 to 10 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

I also learn: The Pittsburgh Steelers have won the most Super Bowls with 6 championships, and both the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have 5 wins each. The Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers have the most Super Bowl appearances with 8, while the Buffalo Bills have the most consecutive appearances with 4 consecutive losses from 1991 to 1994.
