Alrighty, you want a disection.

Yes, Moss has contributed to two of the highest scoring offences ever, but when you talk about how a team wins championships, what was the one mainstay of the 49ers dynasty of the 80’s/90’s? Rice. He had two different QBs, a different oline, a different defence. Almost everything was different on that team. He was still great and made great plays to help Steve Young win a super bowl against SD and prove that Young belonged. He runs the best routes anyone ever has, has amazing hands, and an uncanny ability to make a play after a catch despite “not being fast enough” for the scouts.
Now, on the all time list, I don’t even have Moss second to be honest. Cris Carter. THE best hands ever in the game. He practiced all day making one handers, he could make them with his eyes closed, and no one has ever had a sideline presence like him. He caught anything within 10 yards of him somehow, and just dominated every game. Fitzgerald cites Carter as a big influence when Fitzy was a helper for the Minn team, and almost every WR in the league today says he had the best hands….ever.

Moss right now is good because of a system. Everyone is good in NE. Galloway will be, Fred Taylor will be, its no different. Moss on the Raiders was non existant because he didn’t have a QB that could heave the ball 50 yards up the sideline every play, and he refuses to run any other route. Yes, Moss broke Rice’s single season TD record, but he did it with Tom Brady and more games. Rice did it in less time and with a QB some say isn’t as good as Brady when Brady gets to the end of his career.

Alright, so ya, Moss is great, but pretty much all you see him do is the deep route and a deep post….Rice and Carter dominated. I would take Rice and Carter with some HS QB to make a team rather than Moss and either of them with the HS QB because the other two made plays…And you know……All Carter did was catch TDs lol__________________
