Top to bottom…

That time of year again; the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, the ‘72 Dolphins are starting to call each other, wondering if this is the year… still 4 unbeatens lefe. (No one’s counting the Broncos. The rest of the league after the top 8 or 9 appears… mediocre, through and through. The run for the playoffs should be a blast this year.

Here, now… The NFL Power Rankings for week 6.

  1. Indianapolis Colts (5-0) (last wk #1)

Now people are noticing. The question is, does it matter?

  2. New Orleans Saints (4-0) (last wk #2)

With the Giants coming to town, we’ll find out just how good they are.

  3. New York Giants (5-0) (last wk #3)

Might be a preview of the NFC Title game. Eli better have the guns ready.

  4. Minnesota Vikings (5-0) (last wk #5)

    Is anyone still doubting Favre?

  5. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) (Last wk #7)

With all of the attention on the undefeateds, the eagles could mess around and win 13 games this year.

  6. Atlanta Falcons (3-1) (Last wk #10)

Dismantling the Niners brings them back to the fore. Almost.

  7. Denver Broncos (5-0) (last wk #12)

    Hard to argue with 5-0.

  8. Cincinnati Bengals (4-1) (last wk #19)

    Starting to believe in themselves.

  9. Chicago Bears (3-1) (last wk #11)

This week at Atlanta will show how good they are.

  10. New England Patriots (3-2) (last wk #4)

Showing that while they’re still a good football team, not an elite one.

  11. Baltimore Ravens (3-2) (last wk #6)

Need a win at Minnesota to right the ship.

  12. Green Bay Packers (2-2) (last wk #14)

Perfect time for a bye. Help was called in for O line… Was it enough?

  13. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) (last wk #13)

Less than impressive over Lions. Big Ben looked good on Monday Night Raw, though.

  14. New York Jets (3-2) (last wk #9)

They’re already figuring it out, Rex.

  15. San Fransisco 49ers (3-2) (last wk #8)

    Ouch.

  16. Miami Dolphins (2-3) (last wk #21)

Right back in the thick of things.

  17. Dallas Cowboys (3-2) (last wk #17)

Need to figure out who they are soon…

  18. San Diego Chargers (2-2) (last wk #18)

    Needed the rest.

  19. Arizona Cardinals (2-2) (last wk #20)

And that wasn’t the good version of the Texans.

  20. Houston Texans (2-3) (last wk #15)

Perfectly capable of beating top 10 teams, or losing to bottom 10.

  21. Seattle Seahawks (2-3) (last wk #20)

Was that a mirage? Or does Jacksonville suck? (or both?)

  22. Carolina Panthers (1-3) (last wk #23)

    Miami’s doing it… Why not?

  23. Detroit Lions (1-4) (last wk #25)

May still only win 2 games, but they aren’t a joke anymore.

  24. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) (last wk #16)

    What was that?

  25. Buffalo Bills (1-4) (last wk #22)

Buffalo fans should tar and feather every damn player on the team. 6-3? Cleveland? Shame on you.

  26. Kansas City Chiefs (0-5) (last wk #27)

Hard to see at 0-5, but they are improving.

  27. Tennessee Titans (0-5) (last wk #26)

The most spectacular fall in NFL history

  28. Washington Redskins (2-3) (last wk #29)

‘Skins are like Santa Clause; bringing wins to the poor little winless teams.

  29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5) (last wk #30)

The Bucs should consider bringing the old uniforms back, cause this sure looks like the 80’s version.

  30. Oakland Raiders (1-4) (last wk #28)

Becoming repititious…. JaMarcus sucks, Raiders lose.

  31. Cleveland Browns (1-4) (last wk #31)

How do they win their first game and still remain the 2nd worst team in football? 6-3. 2 completions. ‘Nuff said.

  32. St Louis Rams (0-5) (last wk #32)

It’s like watching the awful auditions on American Idol; sad, but almost funny.

Mediocre after the top 8 or 9? You have the pats at 10. You really want to write them off already?

I still think Pittsburgh and new England are the teams to beat in the afc, and the cards and sea hawks in the nfc. its money time in December and we will see if some of these hot teams still have momentum around week 10. thats when the big boys start earning their money.
