Week 13 is in the books; the playoffs are as confusing in this era of parity (read: mediocrity). Some surprises; the Steelers are on the verge of an epic collapse, the Pats dynasty is now just a memory. The Bengals and Packers sit near the top… torches appear to be passing. Here are your ‘Official’ power rankings for week 14.

1. New Orleans Saints (12-0) (last wk #1)
It was close, but these are the games that championship teams have to win.
2. Indianapolis Colts (12-0) (last wk #2)
Yet another contender swatted down.
3. Minnesota Vikings (10-2) (last wk #3)
Still the third best team in the NFL. They just ran into the Cards on the wrong day. Any given Sunday and all that. The Favre whispers have of course started; relax. He’s fine.
4. Green Bay Packers (8-4) (last wk #5)
I caught an enormous amount of flack for having them at #5 last week. They sure looked the part Monday… other than a five minute stretch in the third quarter, they utterly dominated the Ravens.
5. San Diego Chargers (9-3) (last wk #4)
Didn’t exactly steamroll the Browns, but 9-3 is 9-3.
6. Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) (last wk #7)
We keep expecting them to fall apart…
7. Arizona Cardinals (8-4) (last wk #11)
One of those games against the Vikes where everything worked.
8. Dallas Cowboys (8-4) (last wk #6)
Being swept by the Giants hurt their pride, but they’re still in the NFC East driver seat.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) (last wk #10)
That final week showdown with Dallas is beginning to loom.

Chance this week to silence the naysayers this week at Indy.
11. New England Patriots (7-5) (last wk #8)
It’s painful watching a dynasty die.

Sweeping the Cowboys will be a nice consolation prize while they sit home and watch them on TV in January.

Had a lot of us (myself included) buying. Still as impressive turnaround, but they would need some biblical type miracles now.

That might do it for the Steelers… after Cleveland, the schedule is brutal.

At least they can still beat the Bucs.

Nice win over the Niners does little to ease a disappointing year.

Without Jamarcus at the helm, this is actually a semi respectable team.

Seems like that second half at Indy took all of the wind out of the sails.

Singletary’s boys were still just a year or two away. That Minnesota loss was a train wreck they never recovered from.

Falcons are crippled, and looked it.

Gave the Saints all they wanted and then some.

How in the world could you put the Packers at #4? The Bengals beat the Packers earlier this season. Against the Ravens on MNF the Packers were pitiful. How many penalties were there? To many. They are not better then the Cincinnati Bengals and are not better then the San Diego Chargers. Other than the Packers issue, the rest of the list looks pretty good
did you watch the mnf game? good lord… in spite of all of those penalties, they completely dominated.
No possible way the Saints are on top. They won over the Redskins on pure luck. The Colts need to be ranked #1 right now after putting a stop to the Titans.
I watched MNF, they played the Ravens, who really are not that good this year. So a win over them is not that impressive. Cincinnati beat them twice and Green Bay. The Packers have to many penalties to go far into the playoffs. Not to mention they have to chase a wild card, since the Vikings are dominant and beat them twice. The Packers are good, but not that good. They should be ranked #8 if anything, considering they can’t beat the Vikings and the Cardinals did. To beat the Ravens this year is overrated, they have a poor offense (except for Rice) and their defense can be challenged with passing plays to good receivers.
Personally I like ESPN’s rankings better
Broncos are below the Cowboys? I can tell they put alot of thought into this list.
