NFL Week 15 – A Message to Terrell Owens!

An interview with the NFL’s most controversial player get’s my attention. That, and all of this week’s picks in this report.

Whenever Terrell Owens opens his big fat mouth, he manages to alienate everyone he comes in contact with. Well, he did it again this week.

In an interview with ESPN, he complains that, “…no one is paying attention to him.” I nearly fell off the couch in amazement.

I’ve never seen a vainer and callous individual than T.O. Here’s a guy who causes trouble everywhere he goes.

He raises havoc in Philly because he doesn’t get the ball as much. He “accidently” overdoses on pain medication this year. And now, he feels he’s being ignored by the media? My god!

Well, I have a couple of choice words for him.

“Hey, T.O.! Will you please shut the hell up? Win a Super B owl and then come talk to me!” At least Muhammad Ali backed his words with action. What does T.O. as far as championship hardware, eh?

In addition to enjoying Dallas ‘ loss to New Orleans last weekend, I had a pretty good weekend as well. Here’s out picks for this weekend!

Last Week’s Picks: 10-6

Season to Date: 119-88

Thursday December 14 th , 2006

San Francisco @ Seattle (9½) – The Seahawks were humiliated by Arizona last weekend. They blew a chance to wrap up the division and now they take on a 49ers team that has stumbled back to their losing ways. They must to find a way to stop All-Pro candidate R B Frank Gore, who is now over 1300 yards for the year.

Prediction – Seattle (24-13)

Saturday December 16 th , 2006

Dallas (3½) @ Atlanta – The Falcons received a win from an unlikely source, their blocking R B Justin Griffin. He scored his first ever TD in the win against Tampa B ay . They control their own destiny as they hold one of two wild card slots (The Giants have the other one.) They take on a Cowboys team that’s still smarting from their butt whipping against New Orleans on Sunday night. Look for a tough game from both teams.

Prediction – Dallas (24-17)

Sunday December 17 th , 2006

Washington @ New Orleans (9½) – The Saints continue to surprise every critic with every game they play. Last week’s victim, Dallas, got spanked in their own building by Q B Drew B rees. They go home to take on a Redskins team that is showing some signs of life, despite losing last week to Philadelphia . Look for another big day for B rees, B ush and the rest of the gang.

Prediction – New Orleans (27-7)

Tampa B ay @ Chicago (13½) – The B ears finally looked like the team that dominated the first 7 games of the season last weekend against St. Louis . Q B Rex Grossman needs to continue that play for the rest of the season. They take on a B uccaneers team that continues to unravel, losing 6 of 7 games. This one will be no different.

Prediction – Chicago (35-14)

Pittsburgh (2½) @ Carolina – Despite passing for over 400 yards, Panthers Q B Chris Weinke still gave up 3 interceptions in their loss to the Giants. Not bad for someone who hasn’t started a game in 5 years. Unfortunately, their playoff chances have been harmed severely with the loss. As for the Steelers, their season all comes down to this game. If they lose, their season as defending champions is done!

Prediction – Pittsburgh (23-16)

NY Jets @ Minnesota (3) – With the loss to B uffalo , the Jets wasted a big opportunity to get closer to first place, New England . They’ll have to take on Minnesota , a team they haven’t played in 4 years. B oth can ill afford to blow another game. Look for this game to be a defensive struggle.

Prediction – NY Jets (14-10)

Miami @ B uffalo (1) – Miami took full advantage of Patriots mistakes and won a big game to help their playoff chances. Now they’ll have to shuffle off the B uffalo , this Sunday. B y the time the weekend starts, this might be a pick ‘em game. That is, unless it starts to snow. Then all hell will break loose on the Dolphins as they never play well in cold weather games.

Prediction – B uffalo (15-13)

Jacksonville (3½) @ Tennessee – Since coming on board as a starter, Q B Vince Young has saved his team’s season. The Titans have won 4 straight, including big victories against Philly and the Giants. Now they take on Jacksonville at home and if they continue to win, they might have a chance for the playoffs. It will be hard and I’m afraid the clock will strike midnight for Young and the Titans.

Prediction – Jacksonville (20-17)

Houston @ New England (11) – Patriots Q B Tom B rady played poorly against Miami as he was sacked four times, fumbled twice and he was limited to 78 yards passing. He gets a chance to prove it was an anomaly as they take on the Texans who’ve come out flat in the second half of this season, losing 3 out of 4.

Prediction – New England (23-7)

Detroit @ Green B ay (5) – The Lions haven’t won a game on the road all season. Come to think of it, they’ve only won 2 games all season. They might have a chance against the Packers, albeit slim.

Prediction – Green B ay (17-14)

Cleveland @ B altimore (11) – The Ravens can wrap up the AFC North with a victory and Cincinnati loss. The “new” B rowns are heavy underdogs in B altimore against the “old” B rowns. The only thing Cleveland is playing for is pride and being spurned.

Prediction – B altimore (33-12)

Denver (3) @ Arizona – Denver played their worst defensive game this year by giving up 48 points last weekend to San Diego . They hurt their playoff chances and can’t afford another bad Sunday. They’ll travel to Arizona , where they’ll take on a Cardinal team that shocked Seattle last weekend.

Prediction – Denver (24-16)

Philadelphia @ NY Giants (5½) – The biggest plus for the Eagles is having a Q B who’s run the west coast offense before. That’s why Jeff Garcia has kept the team in the playoff hunt. Sunday will be their toughest task as they travel to the Meadowlands where the Giants finally snapped their losing woes. “ B ig B lue” is starting to get healthy again and that may be the difference.

Prediction – NY Giants (28-17)

St. Louis @ Oakland (2½) – It’s been a tail of two seasons for the Rams. After starting the season 4-1 they’ve lost 7 of 8 games. Poor play by the offense is what killed their season. They travel to Oakland to try and salvage their season. Despite being favored at home, this is the worst Raiders team in history and I don’t expect them to win another game this season.

Prediction – St. Louis (27-10)

Kansas City @ San Diego (9) – Chargers R B LaDanian Tomlinson set the single season scoring mark during week 14’s victory against Denver . He’s clearly the MVP of the league. They can solidify the best conference victory by winning the next 3 games. The first against Kansas City will be tough, even if they’re at home. The Chiefs will also need to win games to make the wild card.

Prediction – San Diego (27-19)

Monday December 18 th , 2006

Cincinnati @ Indianapolis (3) – The Colts played their sloppiest game of the year in the 44-17 drubbing against Jacksonville last weekend. Now they’ll have to fight for home field through the playoffs with San Diego . This game is a must for Cincinnati if they’re going to make it to the playoffs. Win, or else!

Prediction – Indianapolis (27-24)
