Not the best week in the land of guaranteed picks this time around; worst of the year, actually.  There were some good picks, but I finished up at 8-7 with the Saints as my pick for tomorrow.  Here they are, game by game.

Green Bay Packers (6-4) at Detroit Lions (2-8)

Packers are finally playing up to potential and overcoming awful coaching.  Don’t get excited, Lions fans.  It was just Cleveland.

Prediction:  Packers continue to build momentum.  Packers 35 Lions 13

ResultsPackers 34 Lions 12.  Can’t get much closer than that.  Packers are rolling…  All Pro

Oakland Raiders (3-7) at Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

After laying a virtual egg two straight weeks, the ‘Boys look to wake the hell up with the Turkey Day home game.  Addition by subtraction:  benching Jamarcus.

Prediction:  Improved Raiders not enough for Cowboys.  Cowboys 31 Raiders 14

Results: Cowboys 24 Raiders 7.  Cowboys O gets back on track.  Good

Miami Dolphins (5-5) at Buffalo Bills (3-7)

The ‘Fins officially jump back into the thick of the playoff race this week.

Prediction:  Dolphins drive another nail into the Bills coffin.  Dolphins 27 Bills 10

ResultsBills 31 Dolphins 14.  This might end the ‘Fins playoff shot; they’ll have to win out to even have a chance.  Bad

New York Giants (6-4) at Denver Broncos (6-4)

Remember a month or so ago, when we were all trying to decide if these two teams were the best in the NFL?  It’s starting to look like one or both might not even see the post season.

Prediction:  Giants are at least semi legit; Broncos are not.  Giants 31 Broncos 17

ResultsBroncos 26 Giants 6.  Eli home for the holidays.  Broncos still might be.  Bad

Washinton Redskins (3-7) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-4)

If only the Deadskins could score points…

Prediction:  Booooring.  Eagles 17 Redskins 14

ResultsEagles 27 Redskins 24.  Iggles will make the playoffs, but won’t do much once there.  Good

Seattle Seahawks (3-7) at St Louis Rams (1-9)

The Rams have actually managed to hang tough with the big boys the last few weeks.

Prediction:  Upset special #1.  Rams 28 Seahawks 23

ResultsSeahawks 27 Rams 17.  And then they went back to being the Rams.  Bad

Carolina Panthers (4-6) at New York Jets (4-6)

Mathematically, they’re both still alive.  It’s over for one of them after this week.

Prediction:  Carolina clings to the thread on the road.  Panthers 24 Jets 21

ResultsJets 17 Panthers 6.  Didn’t Delhomme used to not suck?  Bad

Cleveland Browns (1-9) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-3)

Holy crap, Brady Quinn can play football!

Prediction:  Just kidding.  Back to business as usual for the Browns.  Bungles 38 Browns 10

ResultsBengals 16 Browns 7.  It wasn’t easy, but a win is a win.  Good

Indianapolis Colts (10-0) at Houston Texans (5-4)

Colts have been squeaking by for weeks.  Are the Texans the team to call their bluff?

Prediction:  Nope.  Colts 27 Texans 17

ResultsColts 35 Texans 27.  That second half was devastating.  See Ya next year, Texans.  Good

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-9) at Atlanta Falcons (5-5)

The Bucs look better with Freeman.  The Falcons are proving just how much they overachieved last year.

Prediction:  Upset special #2.  Succaneers 27 Falcons 24

ResultsFalcons 20 Succaneers 17.  So close…  Bad

Kansas City Chiefs (3-7) at San Diego Chargers (7-3)

Chiefs prove ‘Any given Sunday’… repeat against Bolts?

Prediction:  Lightning doesn’t strike twice.  Chargers 28 Chiefs 17.

ResultsChargers 43 Chiefs 14.  While we’re all watching the Colts, Saints, and Vikings, the Chargers are absolutely rollingGood

Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4) at San Fransisco 49ers (4-6)

The Jags are very quietly starting to believe… Alex Smith doesn’t.

Prediction:  Jags keep it quiet, but keep doing it.  Jags 24 49ers 17

Results49ers 20 Jags 3.  That’ll do it for the Jags, too.  Bad

Chicago Bears (4-6) at Minnesota Vikings (9-1)

While we’re all getting ready for Saints/ Indy in the Super Bowl, The old man is going out with fireworks up north.

Prediction:  The Viking Train rolls on.  Vikings 38 Bears 14

ResultsVikings 36 Bears 10.  If Favre doesn’t fall apart, he ought to be MVP.  Good

Arizona Cardinals (7-3) at Tennessee Titans (3-6)

Cards may end up resting starters for the last month in NFC west.  Titans, though…

Prediction:  Upset special #3… Titans.  And big.  Titans 38 Cardinals 21

ResultsTitans 20 Cards 17.  I said at 1-6 that we would be talking playoffs for the Titans in a month.  And they’ll beat Indy next week.  All Pro

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) at Baltimore Ravens (5-5)

This is a monumental game for both teams.  Expect a vicious game.

Predictions:  In big games, great D rises to the top.  Steelers 16 Ravens 13

Results:  Ravens 20 Steelers 17.  No Big Ben was just too much.  Bad

New England Patriots (7-3) at New Orleans Saints (10-0)
