Jason Terry, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Kukoc, they are not the primary stars of their own team, they are not the ones doing all the great plays, they don’t even play as a starter in most of their games but they have made a lot for their team that even their own stars couldn’t do.

Here is the list of the best bench players in the NBA of all time; their names may not be known but their roles and great plays still echoes in the NBA.
10. Jason Terry. Known as the “JET” he was the best off the bench player of the Dallas Mavericks, he plays both shooting guard and point guard position, with his play making abilities and his catch and shoot ball play, he is one of the key players from the bench that superstar would like to have by his side.
09. Manu Ginobili. Won the 6th man of the year award on 2008 and one of the greatest off the bench athletes, an all around player which led the San Antonio Spurs in one of its championships in this millennium
08. Billy Cunningham. One of the off the bench legendary NBA player, Billy played for the powerful 1967 Sixers Team with Wilt Chamberlain, he is also one of the first off the bench players to won an MVP award.
07. Ricky Pierce. Rick is one of the highest scoring non starting players in the NBA, Pierce won NBA Sixth Man Award of the Year twice, and he played alongside Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp and led the Sonics into the Western Conference Finals but eventually lost to the Phoenix Suns.
06. Bobby Jones. One of the best defensive off the bench players of all time, he is a dynamic player, Bobby could make plays not only for himself but also for his teammates, he had 4 appearances in the NBA All Star Game and won NBA sixth man award.
05. Bill Walton. Remarkably one of the most dominant non-starting NBA player who even stand hand to hand battle against Abdul Kareem Jabbar, Walton was also named finals MVP despite a non starting player when he led the Trail Blazers against the most favored to win Sixers team even losing the first two games of the series.
04. Toni Kukoc. The most favorite among all bench players of his time, he played with the Chicago Bulls along side with the hall of famers Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoc is the last NBA player to win the NBA Sixth Man of the year award on a championship team in the same season.
03. Detlef Schrempf. Detlef is a all around player scoring, rebounding and assists player who never became a solid starting player in any team in his whole NBA career, he was the first German born NBA player in the NBA, of course the second was named Dirk Nowitzky.
02. Kevin McHale. Member of the Celtics Legendary Team, standing 6’10″ power forward he played alongside with Parish and Larry Bird, with his length and height, he can easily make plays under the basket, he is a very physical defender and a decent perimeter shooter.

Nicknamed “Hondo”, he introduce to the whole NBA world what is the importance of the bench squad, he showed that not only the primary players can do clutch scoring plays and clutch defense, aside from that, he is the Boston Celtics all time leader in points and games played and naturally one of the best player ever to wore the Celtics uniform.
