Prized running back Keith Marshal from North Carolina has announced that his final decision as to who will have the privilege of providing him a full ride scholarship for 2012 is forthcoming. Marshal is the No.1 rated running back in the country, based on his 6′-1″ 195lb frame and sub 4.3 smokin 40 time. Contestants in the Keith Marshal lottery have been University of Georgia, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina and Notre Dame University.

Marshal revealed recently that he will make his final decision December 6, as to where he will be toting the pigskin for the next 3-4 years. Some say that Keith favors the University of Georgia at this point in time, but this columnist believes that is just a smokescreen. Keith has stated repeatedly that he wants his choice to be a university that will provide him with a quality education, for after his football career.
When you take into consideration Keith’s desire to receive a quality education, and his desire to be part of a football program with the potential to win a National Championship, Notre Dame University is the clear choice. Certainly by anyone’s standards Notre dame provides far and away the most highly respected educational advantage of any of the five universities. Additionally, Notre Dame has a long standing tradition of graduating 99% of their student/athletes.
Across the country Notre Dame University is recognized as a university whose educational facilities, and professors are second to none, which make a diploma from Notre Dame a valuable commodity. When you take this into consideration, and the fact that Coach Kelly has the Fighting Irish headed in the right direction, the Irish are the ONLY smart choice for Keith Marshal.
Adding Keith Marshal to a top 10 recruiting class which is laden with Four and Five Star recruits, and the likely destination for super slinger Gunner Keil (the No.1 rated pro style QB) will make the Irish early on favorites to win their 12th National Championship. Notre Dame has already secured the services of that that gifted Ohio RB Mahone, who they would love to couple with Marshal for an unbeatable 1-2 running back punch.
Florida no longer has Urban Meyer, and it shows, and the UGA, Clemson and South Carolina are hardly perennial favorites for a top five finish, much less a National Championship run. So, in this writer’s opinion the University of Notre Dame is the BEST choice for a young RB superstar like Keith Marshal.
Homer? Hilarious article. After this year the SEC will have the last 6 National Champions with likely the next few years picks as well. Notre Dame does provide a great education, lacking in journalistic reality. Not a shot at a Nat’l Championship, or any championship for that matter as an Independent.
