First baseman of the St. Louis Cardinals Lance Berkman could miss six to eight weeks with a right knee injury.
The Cardinals announced Monday that Berkman will undergo arthroscopic surgery this week in Vail, Colorado.
General manager John Mozeliak said that an MRI which submitted the player of 36 years showed no ligament damage.
Berkman, who walked with crutches on Monday, was injured on Saturday when stretching routine to get a shot.
Had only played in 13 games as a Tiemo was out with a strained left calf. Batting .333 with one homer and four RBIs.
