Yes, this time Brett Favre is offically a Viking, and his first game is finished.  Brett Favre made his Viking debut in Minnesota on Friday night.  Although it was only the Viking’s second preseason game, the stadium made it seem like it was the playoffs.  The Vikings hosted the Kansas City Chiefs, but there was a buzz from the second Favre jogged onto the turf for his pregame warm-up at 6:21 pm.  The stadium definitly didn’t take this game as a preseason game.  The seats were packed full of “welcome Favre” signs, Favre jerseys, and smiles of fans whos hopes of a Super Bowl title were becoming reality.

Brett only threw four passes.

Favre misses his first throw to fullback Naufahu Tahi, who is about 4 yards in front of the line of scrimmage.  Favre’s second throw was a low rocket to newly first round pick, Percy Harvin.  Although the pass was complete, the Vikings were short of the first down.  On the next drive, Favre throws again, but to reveiver Jaymar Johnson.  This throw was wide of Johnson falling helplessly to the turf.  The final throw was designated for Harvin, but fell short due to a blitz from the Chiefs defense.

After Favre came off the field, on came former starter, Tavaris Jackson.  Jackson had a very impressive night.  He was 12-15 for 202 yards, and 2 touchdowns.  The stadium did calm down after Favre left the game.

On a different note, the Vikings did end up winning the game on a last second goalline stand.  The Vikings won 17-13 as time expired as the Chiefts threw an incomplete pass in the corner of the endzone.
