Auburn Tigers Quarterback Cam Newton Suspended

Auburn quarterback Cam Newton has been harboring headlines for the majority of the 2010 college football season.  The Auburn Tigers star quarterback has for some weeks been a Heisman Trophy front runner.  The 6′6″, 250 pound sensation has garnered comparisons to former Texas quarterback Vince Young while leading his Auburn Tigers to an undefeated 11-0 record and a spot at the top of the polls.

But the dream season came to an abrupt end Tuesday morning as the NCAA ordered that Cam Newton be held out of competition pending determination of his eligibility, taking the decision from the University of Auburn after the Tigers chose to start him against Georgia.  Sources say that it is unlikely that Newton will be cleared at all, much less for the Auburn Tigers last two games against  Alabama or the SEC Championship Game and eventual BCS bowl bid.

Rumors and accusations have abounded for weeks that Cam Newton’s father had essentially brokered a pay to play deal for his son, essentially selling his son to the highest bidder.  Brokering a pay to play deal is obviously a blatant violation of NCAA college football rules, and with the NCAA attempting to crack down on what is becoming a rampant issue, the outlook for Cam Newton’s college football career is grim.

Not that he will likely lose any sleep; there will no doubt be a lucrative NFL contract in the near future.  The University of Auburn will no doubt suffer major repercussions, but the true victims are the other Auburn players and the fans.  But that’s usually the case in the business world that college football has become.

Cam better hope he is a first round pick, otherwise he will have to take a paycut compared to what he made in college.

Wow. This thing is full of spelling, usage, and grammar fails. He may get suspended, I hope he does, but I don’t believe this BS. If you’re going to type up a fake article, try not to make it look like it was authored by a mentally retarded 8 year old.

Really funny. Seeing as how Newton rode the team bus on Friday evening and had been spotted @ practice earlier yesterday morning, both of which he could not do if he was suspended, it looks as if your article is just as false as so many others. FAIL.

You’re obviously an idiot and I have no idea why your garbage articles make you so much cash. Funny thing is Cam PLAYED for the Georgia game, he WILL PLAY at the Alabama game, the SEC Championship game, and the National Championship game.

Essentially, you’re a terrible sports write because essentially this is garbage. Learn not to write like a redundant middle school student.

Cam Newton will not be playing in the National Championship game, because Auburn won’t be playing in the game period.

Auburn’s dreams come to an end Nov 26th! Bama has everything to gain and nothing to lose in the Iron bowl. Spoiling Auburn’s dream season even though tainted like the mafia, is the next best thing to winning another national championship

  12. Posted November 14, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Ha, tainted season. Keep eating whatever your “credible sources” feed you.

  13. Posted November 15, 2010 at 5:29 pm

Oh I hope it wasn’t his father’s idea to make the deals, terrible reason for hurting his teammate’s season. People need to put some thought in to things.. However, very well written :)

  14. Posted November 15, 2010 at 9:28 pm

Too bad he already played in that game.

  15. Posted November 15, 2010 at 9:45 pm

    Well written?

“…father had essentially brokered a pay to play deal for his son, essentially selling…”

He used essentially twice in one sentence. Talk about redundancy!

  16. Posted November 15, 2010 at 9:48 pm

Yeah he already played in that game.

With so much at stake its hard to believe young athletes today still put so much at risk to jeopardize a pro career in sports

I am trying to decide whether you are attempting humor, or if you just have no idea at all what this is really about?

    Hmmm.
