The pleasure experienced in fishing by oneself is unique. Waiting for the bobbing cork to sink and being lulled by the continuous, light motion of the boat, an amateur or even a professional gets the opportunity to ponder over his past life and think about his future. Between four and five o’clock in the early morning, he finds this time the best one and the most pleasant one to appreciate the rare atmosphere of purity and freshness. Fishing alone also gives him peace of mind and thus he can start the day will with a calm and cool mind.
Another aspect of fishing which is pleasant to the fanatics is fishing competitions. For example, the Blue Marlin is a popular game fish found in the Pacific Ocean. Also, there is the Big Game fishing in Mauritius where wealthy Mauritians and mostly tourists compete for the star prize – a large sum of money. But they do it mainly for pleasure and try their best to catch the largest possible Blue Marlin. Here they enjoy themselves by fishing – the source of recreational pleasure, for them – and get a feeling of immense satisfaction if they are the lucky winners.

Furthermore, young adults, students of Biology especially find fishing a great pleasure and an advantage too since they learn about their catch’s nature more in detail. They get to know the exact where fishes, crabs or octopuses dwell, how they obtain their food, what lures them etc. Through fishing, people become more skilful and even more alert to any small movements by tracking down and observing their prey.
Lastly, fishing apart from being leisure also is a source of free and fresh food. Some people go fishing just for the pleasure of making their mothers or wives happy. They set out for the sea or river at dawn together with their fishing lines and rods, baits, among others. They choose a place abundant in fish or other delicious marine creatures and cast their lines. Some are lucky and bring home a giant fish so that a good curry can be made from it and savour it with indescribable pleasure.
In brief, it can be said that fishing is indeed a myriad of pleasures.
