Scam or Not? Get the low-down right here..
If any of you fisher-guys and gals out there do a lot of scouring the Internet for the next big thing in fishing, chances are you’ve come across “The Evening Secret” website. Www.eveningsecretfishing.com to be exact.
When I first laid eyes on this page, my sixth sense told me something was fishy about this site. It’s bland, full of supposed “testimonials”, and the page itself is really long which to me means that they want you to be so hyped by these “testimonials” by all of these fisherman showcasing they’re “catch of a lifetime” that when you get a load of the price on the next page, it should seem worth the money to you and SCAM COMPLETE! What’s more, they tell you absolutely nothing as far as what this “thing” they’re trying to sell actually is.
To those of you who’ve bought this, your REALLY should have done some research. Why? I’ll cut to the chase; it’s nothing more than a 4ft long, green colored fluorescent light that you stick in the water. That’s IT! And they’re trying to sell it to you for practically $200! Okay, now I do have to say this: the light most likely works just as they say. Why? The green light which runs off of a 12volt battery attracts micro-organisms called Zoo-plankton to the area, which is fed upon by the bait fish, and as we all know bait fish attract bigger fish. It’s a simple concept, and if you ask me I think its kind of genius. So where does the scam come in? To a lot of you, reaping the rewards of a night full of catching fish after fish may seem well worth the money, right? Well here’s where the shocker comes in. I mean SHOCKER! Ready for this? Bass Pro Shops currently sells the same exact type of fishing light starting at LESS THAN $20!
Here’s the Bass Pro Shops version, as you will not find any pictures of the Evening Secret on the Internet:

Not only is this a scam in my book [to buy this from EveningSecret.com], it is a crime, and it’s not only eveningsecretfishing.com trying to steal our hard-earned money. There are many imitators out there doing the same exact thing, trying to sell they’re cheaply made lights for nearly $200. In they’re defense, Bass Pro Shop’s lights may not be 4ft long, but at the price that they’re selling them for, you might as well buy 10 lights from B.P.S. From what fishermen say, the Bass Pro Shops version may be a bit cheaply made, but they certainly help in catching a load of fish, most talk about catching mainly crappie. In addition to their being a bit on the cheap side, some have complained of the light not working after more than a few minutes in water, but this is still worth the money if you weigh out the pros and cons before you decide on what you want. Hope this helped someone like myself looking for the next big thing in fishing from wasting a load of money.
