Scam or Not? Get the low-down right here..

If any of you fisher-guys and gals out there do a lot of scouring the Internet for the next big thing in fishing, chances are you’ve come across “The Evening Secret” website. to be exact.

When I first laid eyes on this page, my sixth sense told me something was fishy about this site. It’s bland, full of supposed “testimonials”, and the page itself is really long which to me means that they want you to be so hyped by these “testimonials” by all of these fisherman showcasing they’re “catch of a lifetime” that when you get a load of the price on the next page, it should seem worth the money to you and SCAM COMPLETE! What’s more, they tell you absolutely nothing as far as what this “thing” they’re trying to sell actually is.

To those of you who’ve bought this, your REALLY should have done some research.  Why? I’ll cut to the chase; it’s nothing more than a 4ft long, green colored fluorescent light that you stick in the water. That’s IT! And they’re trying to sell it to you for practically $200! Okay, now I do have to say this: the light most likely works just as they say. Why? The green light which runs off of a 12volt battery attracts micro-organisms called Zoo-plankton to the area, which is fed upon by the bait fish, and as we all know bait fish attract bigger fish. It’s a simple concept, and if you ask me I think its kind of genius. So where does the scam come in? To a lot of you, reaping the rewards of a night full of catching fish after fish may seem well worth the money, right? Well here’s where the shocker comes in. I mean SHOCKER! Ready for this? Bass Pro Shops currently sells the same exact type of fishing light starting at LESS THAN $20!

Here’s the Bass Pro Shops version, as you will not find any pictures of the Evening Secret on the Internet:

Not only is this a scam in my book [to buy this from], it is a crime, and it’s not only trying to steal our hard-earned money. There are many imitators out there doing the same exact thing, trying to sell they’re cheaply made lights for nearly $200. In they’re defense, Bass Pro Shop’s lights may not be 4ft long, but at the price that they’re selling them for, you might as well buy 10 lights from B.P.S. From what fishermen say, the Bass Pro Shops version may be a bit cheaply made, but they certainly help in catching a load of fish, most talk about catching mainly crappie. In addition to their being a bit on the cheap side, some have complained of the light not working after more than a few minutes in water, but this is still worth the money if you weigh out the pros and cons before you decide on what you want. Hope this helped someone like myself looking for the next big thing in fishing from wasting a load of money.

This would be great if it was legal to fish at night in canada but in most provinces it is highly illegal. It should be advertised as the fish pouching secret, It is really no differn’t than buying a spotlight called the deer hunting secret weapon!!!!!!!!!!

I had two of these, the first one leaked water and blew but the manafacturer sent another one from USA to Australia within a week so rapped and worked magic the fish just circled around the light then the sharks arrived. Then some months later all my uninsured fishing gear was stolen $25k worth and have not replaced the light (yet ) Worth the money! Cheers , Ken Jones WA

I bought one of these lights (the 4 foot one) a few years ago and I think it was the best investment I have ever made toward fishing. I live on a canal that leads out to the Detroit River and Lake Erie. I can use this light in 5 feet or 50 feet of water and it allways brings in the game fish.

keep in mind that the only scam I see with evening secret is in its price. Other than that, I’m sure it works wonders.. Just not on your wallet and your mood after you see it in the bass pro catalog for MUCH LESS

If you think the price makes it a scam(and it doesn’t), then Bass Pro Shops is a scammer too, as they sell the exact same 4 foot light for $190.00.

By the way, you think spending $20.00 on a light that stops working after a couple of minutes is “worth the money”?

Bwaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…….
