How to Spearfish Using a Hand Spear or Pole Spear

Most people start of spearfishing with a hand spear because it is the cheapest and least complicated way to spearfish.

1. Find out the rules and regulations your country has when it comes to spearfishing.
2. You will need to find a place to go, reef’s are good but you can go anywhere where the fish are.
3. Swim around until you see fish, dont go directly over to it as you will scare it away, pretend to ignore it and load your hand spear.
4. when the fish is in distance by all means have a shot but try to get the head of the fish. By doing this you will either paralyse or kill the fish which makes it much easier for you.

Once you are used to swimming around the water looking for fish you may want to buy a speargun. They have longer range, better accuracy and you will probably get alot more fish.
