Here are some of the most spectacular peaks from the different parts of the world.
Cerro Torre

Mountain climbing is one of the most rigorous and deadliest human activities. Engaging in such activity requires both physical and mental preparedness. Rigid training is also required. In order to reach the highest, one must start at the lowest. A good and challenging peak to climb in preparation of climbing the highest peaks in the world is Cerro Torre, a mountain peak located between Argentina and Chile. The peak is more than 2,000 meters high.
Cordillera Del Paine

Still in South America, you can also try reaching the zenith of Cordillera del Paine, a small but spectacular mountain group in Chile. As of the moment, no accurate surveys have been published on how high the mountain peaks are.
Piz Badile

After successfully climbing two 2- thousanders, you can now try Piz Badile, a 3,308 meter high mountain in the Bregaglia range between Italy and Switzerland. This mountain peak was first ascent in 1867.
Polar Sun Spire

One of the not-so-tall but very challenging peaks to climb is the Polar Sun Spire, a peak located in the Sam Ford Fjord of Baffin Island, Canada. It is remarkable for its stunning 1,300 meter north face and has been the scene of some amazing epic climbs. It was first climbed in 1996 by a team of 3 climbers.
Trollvegen

The 1,100 meter high Troll Wall in Norway is the tallest vertical rock face in Europe. At its steepest, the summit overhangs the base by nearly fifty meters. It was once the favorite BASE jumping site in the 80s but was prohibited starting in 1986 when some BASE jumpers were killed in the area.
Thumbnail Cliff

If you want to try climbing sea cliffs, try the Thumbnail in Greenland. It is located in Torssukatak Fjord. A successful climb on this cliff will surely be a notable one because at 1,500 meters high, it is the tallest sea cliff in the world.
The Eiger

The Eiger in Bernese Alps is another challenging cliff to climb. At 3,970 meters high, Eiger is a notable mountain which was first ascent in 1858.
Aiguille du Dru

Another 3-thousander that is worth the challenge is Aiguille du Dru. This is located in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. It has two summits – the Grand Dru with a height of 3,754 m and the Petit Dru at 3,733 m high.
Grandes Jorrases

After conquering all those 3-thousanders, you are now ready to take higher mountains like the 4,208 meter high Grandes Jorasses, a collection of mountain summits in the Mont Blanc massif. Its highest peak was first ascent in 1868.
The Matterhorn

Your climbing adventures will not be complete without conquering one of the most spectacular and popular mountains in the world -the 4,478 meters Matterhorn. Just be very careful because it is one of the deadliest peaks in the Alps claiming 500 lives already from 1865 to 1995.
Now, it’s time to take the real challenge…conquering the deadliest and the highest – ‘the 8-thousanders’.
Nanga Parbat

After climbing those dangerous peaks, try climbing some of the tallest and most dangerous peaks in the world. If you are brave enough, try climbing Nanga Parbat, the 9th highest mountain on Earth. It is called the ‘Killer Mountain” because it is one of the deadliest mountain among the 8-thousanders in the 20th century. The highest mountain face in the world – Rupal Face in Nanga Parbat, rises 4,600 meters above its base.
K2

At 8,611 meters high, K2 is only the second-highest mountain on Earth but it is much harder and more difficult to climb compared to the highest mountain on Earth – Mount Everest. As a matter of fact it is called the ‘Savage Mountain’ due to the difficulty of climbing it. K2 has the 2nd highest fatality rate among the highest mountains in the world with a ratio of 4:1; which means that for every 4 people who reached the zenith, 1 died trying. This highly dangerous mountain to ascend is located on the borders of China and Pakistan.
Annapurna

Annapurna, a series of peaks in the Himalayas, is only the 10th highest mountain on Earth but it has the highest fatality rate. This mountain is regarded as the ‘world’s most dangerous mountain to climb’. The fatality rate is 40% which means that for every 10 people who reach the summit, 4 died trying.
Mt. Everest

Here is the ultimate challenge…Mount Everest! It is not the hardest mountain to summit but most mountain climbers like to reach the peak of this spectacular mountain because it’s the highest in the world. Reaching its zenith is a great accomplishment plus the privilege of being included in the pages of history as one of the few people who reach the peak of the tallest mountain on Earth. There have been 2,700 individuals who successfully reach the zenith with 210 people died in trying.
Happy landing to all!
