The NL Central Race In 09.

At the All-Star Game 2009, the NL Central race was a close race having 4 teams trailing the Cardinals by only 5 games or less. Those teams where the Brewers 2.5 games, the Astros & Cubs 3.5 games & the Reds 5.0. A few weeks after the All-Star Game, the Reds fell of the table but on July 26th the Cardinals lost there lead in the division, now trailing the Cubs by a half game. Not far behind where the Astros, 2 games back & the Brewers 3 games back. But as of the end of play on August 10th, the divison is falling out of reach. The Cardinals took the lead in the divison again, 3 games over the Cubs & thats the only team that has a chance to catch the Cards. The Brewers are 6.5 games back, the Astros 7 & the Reds 13.5 games back! The only way that the divison can be changed from a two team race is if the Astros’ first basemen, Lance Berkmen, returns from the DL & turns the team around. But that is very unlikely so look foward to a 2 team race down the stretch in the NL Central.
