The Kentucky Derby is the most prestigious horse race in the United States it is like the Daytona 500 for horse racers. It was run today at around 630pm. The winner of the Kentucy Derby was a jockey that had never run the Debry before. The winning horse was three year old I’ll Have Another. This horse is now the most famous horse in the world.
And it will be for at least one year. But if I’ll Have Another were to win the Preakness and Belmont stakes for a triple crown win then I’ll Have Another will be the most famous race horse since Secretariat.
The Kentucky Derby is the highest paying horse race of the season it paid the winner nearly one and a half million dollars. This was the first year in one hundred and thirty eight that the winner came from the nineteenth post.
