It has been my freinds dream to be able to barrel race, since she was about 4. It’s what she have been preparing for since she was VERY young! Soon she will be able to make her dream, and her grandfathers dream, become reality. She want to make him proud. She loves her grandfather very much. Her grandparents live on a horse ranch so, as soon as she get her barrel horse ready, she will have three outdoor arenas to practice in, two of which have barrels already set out. Her grandfather made sure she was well taken care of. Her grandparents have recently given her a black and white registered Quarter Horse Paint, named Dixie. A few years back her grandfather had a stroke and has been bed ridden since. He is partially paralyzed on his left side. If anything, this has given her the drive she needs to continue following her dream. It shows her that no matter what, you never know how much time you’ll have. So chase your dreams and show the world that you CAN accomplish anything you put your mind to.
Her horse Dixie is black and white (looks brown in her pictures, but in person you can tell she is black and white) and has the prettiest gate I have ever seen. She’s so smooth and fluent in her stride. Dixie is a stubborn horse and enjoys trying to get her way. My dad says she is just like me and that we are perfect for each other. Dixie stands almost 5 1/2 feet tall at her back and is solid muscle. When she runs, you can see every muscle under her skin ripple with her movements. Her trainer is Glen, he was an apprentice with Clinton Anderson and is using those same techniques on Dixie. She was bred on her grandparents ranch and her grandfather gave Dixie to her not to long ago.
