2009 Tour De France

And thus begins another chapter in cycling history.
Today (July 4th, 2009) is the start of the 2009 Tour De France. With the start of this years tour, starts another chapter in cycling history. Why, you ask? Because it’s the return of the infamous Lance Armstrong. He’s back, and looking strong. His return is one which will surely go down in the record books, regardless of the outcome of the Tour.
The favorite team for this year’s Tour, has to be that of Team Astana. With riders like Alberto Contador, Lance Armstrong, Andreas Kloden, Levi Leipheimer, and many more, it’s no wonder why this team is the favorite. This may be one of the strogest teams in cycling history!
The one problem that comes with all these great riders on the team, is the question of who the leader is. At the moment, any of the 4 riders listed above are worthy candidates, though many are saying that Alberto Contador is should be the leader. It all comes down to how they ride in todays Prologue Stage, and who all agrees that they should lead. The success of this team last year is only a glimpse of what you’ll see this year, with all these great riders riding together.
We all look forward to what’s ahead. Hopefully, we’ll have an action packed 21 days of cycling, and when the riders ride into Paris, we will find out who is the best rider. Enjoy the next 3 weeks, folks! It’s going to be a very entertaining tour!
