What a Lame Sport!

The place where I come from there is only one sport, the number one: CRICKET. There is no other sport that comes anywhere close to cricket in India – from the eyeballs garnered to the merchandise sold to the amount the cricketers are paid. It seems in India there exists only one sport. The worst part is :CRICKET IS NOT EVEN AN INDIAN SPORT!!

Currently there are three major formats of cricket:

1.  A cricket match that lasts under 4 hours (Twenty-Twenty Cricket)

2.  A cricket match that lasts under 9 hours (50 Over Cricket)

3.  A cricket match that lasts under 5 days. THAT’S RIGHT, 5 DAYS!!! (Test)

One wonders which fool will sit in the stadium or in front of his/her TV set for 8 hours a day, for 5 days in a row to watch one of the most boring games in the world. There is no intensity and definitely no action!! These matches have tea breaks. HA!! Most of these Test matches result in a draw. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????  YOU SIT IN FRONT OF THE TV WATCHING THE GAME AND IT ENDS IN A DRAW!!!!!!!!

A 50-over match is OK. It is only one day. But who is going to spoil the beautiful day to watch 8 hours of no action.

Alright I will admit it. The twenty-twenty format has some action. It is only under 4 hours and there is a lot of action, intensity, flare-ups and excitement. Even the crowds are great, especially when you compare them to the 50-over and test format crowds. Those crowds are like zombies. But still, EVEN THIS FORMAT FALLS FAR BEHIND FOOTBALL. That is the ultimate sport.

Bottom line: I wish my country men would snap out of this craze for cricket. We are one of the few morons that play this sport. Only some 10 nations play this sport seriously. It is not a global sport but a Commonwealth sport. Only the Commonwealth nations play this sport.

Wake up India, get up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are so many other better sports.
