Virender Sehwag made his debut in international cricket in 1999 against arch rival Pakistan. He  didn’t scored many, just 1 run and also went for 35 runs in 3 over, not a great start to international career, but rest they say is history..

He was born in Najafgarh and that’s why he is called the Nawab of Najafgarh. His batting style and stance at the crease are quite similar to Sachin Tendulkar, who also happens to be his idol. Right from childhood, he was a pretty gifted player though he was not good at studies. His family supported him right from his childhood days, and allowed him to play cricket on a regular basis. We are grateful to such parents.

He made his debut in domestic cricket in 1997 and also made his test debut in 2001.He also captained India though only for 2 one day international”s.Right now he is the vice captain of Indian cricket team. He also captains his domestic team, Delhi in Ranji Trophy. When he made his debut many said, that his style of batting is suited for one day international cricket not test cricket, but he proved everybody wrong, he has a better test match record than one day international.

He along with Gautam Gambhir ,both of whom are from Delhi, form a pretty formidable opening batting partnership for India both in test as well as one day international .He has many batting records to his name, some of them are:

1. Only the third player apart from brain Lara, Don Bradman to score 2 triple centuries in test match cricket.

2. Only player to score 2 triple centuries and a five wicket haul in test match

3. Fastest triple century in test cricket 309 in 278 balls, against Pakistan in Multan

4. He has scored 150 or more runs consecutively 11 times.

Conclusion

He is the most lethal batsman in world cricket, who is known for his style of batting, he bats the same way in both test as well as test cricket. He is in form and dangerous.
