Gourob has once again showed his immense talent against Mohammedan. He scored a fighting fifty in the second inning and played key role in Abahani’s 1 wicket win in Real Test. Indeed, it was a sensational fight back. Gourob, despite being struggling with a back injury, showed immense maturity in second innings and scored unbeaten 98 runs. Ripon was his runner. Chasing 200 to win, team Abahani’s had made only 56 for four (after 12 over’s) at stumps on day four. Sojib scored valuable 48 runs and completed his 2000 runs in the calendar year 2010, eight times in his Test Cricket career.

Abahani’s Captain Mehedi scored only 2 runs. Ronny gave his full support to Gourob in 85 runs partnership for 9th wicket. Abahani’s were 155 /8 in 36.5 overs with Raja and Ram at the crease and from that moment they never looked back. From Mohammedan side Sobuj and Captain took 3 wickets each.

Gourob has always been noted most for his batting against Mohammedan, in both test and one day national matches. Before this test, he has scored 7 out of his 26 test hundreds and 4 out of his 6 ODI hundreds against Mohammedan. He has two double-centuries in tests, both of them against Mohammedan: his personal best of 291 at Dhaka in 2000-01, and 200* at Shahjalal stadium in 2007-08.
