Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian cricket team captain has become the highest paid cricket player in the world. According to Forbes magazine, Dhoni made a total of 26.5 million USD from June 2011 to June 2012. It has been a great journey for Dhoni, ever since he started playing international cricket.
Known as Captain Cool, MS Dhoni has been a revolution to Indian cricket ever since he took over the captaincy. Under his leadership, India became world champion twice (2011 ODI world cup, 2007 t20 world cup), asia cup champion (2010) and achieved numerous other successes. Dhoni also lead Chennai Super Kings (Indian domestic team) to glory on various occasions.
Him being the highest paid cricketer is 100% justified in my opinion. Leading a team from sub-continent is never easy (due to great expectations) and he managed to lead the team very efficiently.
