When It was decided that there will be a quaterfinal encounter between India and Australia in Motera. We all have prayed that India would win this match like never before and take the revenge of the 2003 World cup final that India lost against Australia. India might also have been much worried about the players selection for the match and the tactics and they might have been excelling the fielding performance of the team.
India made a change in the with the inclusion of Suresh Raina on the place of Yusuf Pathan as Raina was performing so well in the field and Yusuf was a bit unfit so Raina was given a chance to play against Australia and show what he has got for that he should be chosen.
When the match started with Australia winning the toss and batting first we have expected lots of runs from the side but the Indian Bowlers and Fielders were extraordinaryly improving match by match and they are coming in form. Indian bowlers and fielders saved lots of runs as nobody was much expensive except Harbhajan Singh may be it was not Bhajji’s day otherwise he is a great bowler and a utility batsman. Ashvin , Yuvraj and Zaheer Khan took 2-2 wickets each and stopped the Australian vigrous innings to just 260 in 50 overs
When India came to bat it was looking that the target is reachable but still as it was Australia then no chance should be taken. As always Indian batting line up is best in the world so Sachin and Sehwag started well but Sachin made brilliant fify 53 and completed 18000 runs in ODI. Gambhir also made nice fifty 50 but Sachin was caught behind and the silly misunderstanding between Gambhir and Yuvi took the Wicket of Sachin and Gambhir respectively. Ms Dhoni was also not effective in the batting now came the trump card Suresh Raina. He stood well and helped Yuvi to Take India to another winning performance by Yuvi with 57* and 2 wickets and fourth consecutive man of the match award. Thanks to Yuvi and Raina we won the tight match by 5 wickets.
