Dinda Bowled Pune Warriors to Victory
Nobody expected Mumbai Indians, the much fancied side even to win the tournament, would eat humble pie before Pune Warriors in Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai before their home crowd yesterday. But all the credit should go to Pune Warriors and its captain Saurav Ganguly for wrapping up the match under pressure. Dinda bowled Pune Warriors to victory in the match and he should have been awarded the man-of-the-match award. Only Robin Uthappa and Steve Smith were able to cross 30 runs. Malinga’s bowling was very tidy.

Pune Warriors could score only 129 runs in the allotted 20 overs. But even with this score, they were able to defend it. That was because the Mumbai Indian openers succumbed and gave their side a poor start. The scoreboard was 5-3 in the initial stages. Franklin and Dinesh Karthik attempted to repair the damage but could not succeed. The margin of victory for Pune Warriors was 28 runs.
Steve Smith Was Man-Of-The-Match
Last year Yuvraj Singh entertained the crowd. Everybody is missing Yuvraj Singh. After completion of his cancer treatment, Yuvraj will be hopefully back at any time for the IPL. Dinda’s four wickets for eighteen runs proved to be a match winner. Steve Smith claimed the man-of-the-match award.
Saurav Ganguly Has Rich Experience and Captaincy Skills
Sachin could have made a difference for the Mumbai Indians had he been present. It seems Sachin has not recovered fully from his illness because of which he was forced to retire hurt in the opening match against CSK in Chennai. Sachin will be back in the team, probably in the next match, but one cannot say about Yuvraj Singh. Saurav Ganguly had begun the season well and should lead his team to the tournament victory with his rich experience and captaincy skills.
