Will the defending champions, the Indian Cricket team manage to retain their title?

Coming hot on the heels of the Indian Premier League or IPL is the World Cup for T20 cricket.  While the IPL had its moments and the Indian Players were in their element, it was a domestic event.Even with the foreign players that played in it, and despite it having to shift venue to South Africa.

Now its the big time. The world cup is where the Indian Players of the Indian Cricket team must actually prove their worth. Cricket T20 is a far more demanding form of cricket. The players in the side are mostly the younger and fitter men. Although injury ridden Sehwag is already back home.

A normal t20 cricket match can see a whole lot of action. An innings can turn within an over and with every wicket that falls. The t20 cricket world cup is sure to have many memorable moments. The first test of the Indian Cricket team and captain Dhoni came with the match against the West Indies.

Sad to say a 7 wicket loss is hardly the way a winning team performs. If India wants to see that t20 world cup back in the country it will have to play some spectacular cricket. Certainly better than its last performance. I for one was very dissapointed at the quick loss of wickets from which the team never quite recovered.

I read this with great interest because you are a wonderful friend. Our love of cricket is not shared, however. Sorry. Do you like ping pong?

Oh Ken! You don’t love cricket? I hope our friendship survives this! :)
Cricket is like a mega craze in India and in my life as well. My mother will only serve meals during drinks breaks and innings changes!

Very interesting article, I never used to know much about Cricket, but I have friends from India, and told me a lot about it, and so it does interest me some now, thanks for sharing.

My condolences, Cashmere. While you were probably sleeping in your bed last night, dreaming of victory, England eliminated India from the World Twenty 20. Not that I’m gloating, you understand!
Great, informative article, there’s not many women who understand cricket here in the UK, with the exception of the England Ladies cricket team, winners of the lCC Womens World Cup!
    Alright then, I am gloating!

    George yeah yeah, I know!
And no I wasn’t sleeping I was up till the last 4 Dhoni hit.
And i wish it were otherwise, but England really did play well yesterday. Their bowling was far more disciplined than ours,
Zaher and Bhajji gave away too many runs.
I’ve got a second piece cued up in pending content about that.
As for gloating…go ahead, my day shall come ;)
