NBA 2009-2010 Season

My take on the 2009-2010 season.

I will give my take on all the teams from the Lakers to the Wizards

1. Lakers-the new NBA champions come back this year to defend their championship. The addition of Ron Artest and the loss of Trevor Ariza people believe is a swap but I think Artest is better than Ariza and with Odom back the Lakers will be better than ever.

2. Celtics-Last year the Celtics did not have KG in the playoffs and they lost in the semifinals to the Magic in 7. But the Celtics did sign Rasheed Wallace who should be interesting to see play. Hopefully he won’t get mad all the time and not get technical fouls(he should be proud of himself he leads the NBA in most technical fouls!).

3. Cavaliers-Lebron last year had his greatest year going 66-16 and everyone was waiting for Kobe vs. Lebron. Turns out that the Cavs could not beat the Magic in the Conference Finals. So Lebron should start having doubts about leaving Cleveland. But the Cavs did bring in Shaq who’s goal this year is to “win a ring for the king”. With Shaq in the lineup Big Z should come off the bench. The Cavs did acquire Leon Powe, Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker who are all tall players to play defence.

4. Magic- The Magic who lost in the Finals made a swap by getting Vince Carter and losing Hedo Turkoglu. It should be interesting where the Magic end up this year but I don’t think it will be in the Finals.

5. Denver-For the first time in 24 years the Nuggets got to the Conference Finals, only to lose to the Lakers in 6. Nothing new really happened so it should be the same team as last year.

6. Rockets-the Rockets “swapped” Artest for Ariza but still this team is missing now Yao and Tracy Mcgrady. It should be a dark year for the Rockets. “Houston we have a problem”

7. Spurs-with the addition of Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess the Spurs in my opinion should not have a problem getting to the Finals unless there players break down i.e(Manu Ginobili)

8. Suns-The team that lost Amare last season is looking to get back into the playoffs after not making it last season. The preseason for the team has been pretty good.

9. Pistons-the team that made it to the Conference Finals in the last 6 years got knocked out in the first round. With A.I gone Joe Dumars decides to sign Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon. My opinion for this is the that it was the biggest mistake. They have Hamilton and next season they could have picked up someone way better than both of them.

10. Bulls-The Bulls last year had an epic series with the Celtics with games going into double and triple overtime. This is one of the teams to watch this year.

11. Portland-last year they lost in the first round to Houston. They need to get better if they want to go deeper into the playoffs.

12. Hornets-After getting decimated by the Nuggets in the semifinals  the Hornets should get back on track with the trade of Chandler for Okafor.

13. Utah-with the losing to the Lakers and then all the trade rumors for Boozer the Jazz should clear there minds and prepare for the season.

14. Dallas-with Shawn Marion in the lineup the Mavericks should be getting deep into the playoffs. Marion should be able to gain back his all-stardom back with the Mavericks.

15. Philadelphia-nothing really to say here

16. Atlanta-with Jamal Crawford the Hawks show that they still belong in the playoffs but not enough to beat the Magic, Celtics and Cavs.

17. Miami- all the talk of Dwayne Wade trying to get him a new contract is pointless unless you get somewhere other than the first round in the playoffs. If not expect Dwayne Wade on the market in 2010.

18. Thunder-the young squad of Harden and Durant should be improving this year but still not a playoff team yet.

19. Memphis- even with A.I in the fold the Grizzlies will still not get anywhere this year.

20. Clippers-Griffin the 1 pick this year should have a good season. Maybe this year we will see more of the Clips.

21. Indiana-Granger is a success but are still in need of better players if they want to get back to where they were a couple of years back.

22. Raptors-with the addition of Turkoglu the Raptors should make the playoffs but as a low seed.

23. Golden State-If Jackson leaves this team will not get anywhere.

24. New York-waiting for the 2010 lottery to buy all the players that will come on the market

25. New Jersey-read above

26. Charlotte-no A.I and only getting Chandler should not help the Bobcats.

27. Sacramento-coming off their worst season this team will not rebound and will not get anywhere.

28. Minnesota-no Rubio, no problem with Sessions and Flynn this team should not have problem this year.

29. Milwaukee-do not see anything happening to this team this year.

Well these are my opinions on each team and in the end of it all it will be the Lakers vs. Celtics or Cavs
