This week of training had us running eight miles, our longest distance yet. As a result, we couldn’t help but warm up to Eminem’s "Lose Yourself" which comes from the movie he starred in, "8 Mile."

This week marked Team to End AIDS’ alumni run, and it brought many people to Griffith Park in Burbank who have run a marathon with us previously. Also, we were running in the memory of Scott Boliver, our inspirational marathon coach who passed away almosta year ago.
This week had me running five miles through Griffith Park in Burbank. However, the biggest challenge wasn’t the run but getting to the training site on time. The Los Angeles Hard Rock Cafe 5K run was taking place, and many roads in Hollywood were blocked off to traffic.
This week had Team to End AIDS doing its costume run as Halloween was next week. Once again, I dressed up in my Jason "Friday the 13th" Voorhees costume and ran up and down the streets of Burbank with my plastic machete, training for the LA Marathon and trying to raise money for AIDS Project Los Angeles.
