The Women’s Boxing Struggle

Will Women’s Boxing fade away? You must give fans what they want to see. If not, they might loose interest in the sport.

Will Women’s Boxing fade away? Laila Ali is the top female boxing star, and HBO would not show her fight last year. Some people say that Laila Ali hardly fights serious boxers. At one time, it has been said that some people liked Women’s Boxing better than the Men’s Boxing. When it comes to female boxers like Laila Ali, the fans want to see Laila fight tougher opponents.

I must admit that it seems like the best won’t fight the best. If it’s not the female fighters avoiding each other, the management teams are another problem. They can’t come to an agreement. That’s not good for Women’s Boxing. You must give fans what they want to see. If not, they might loose interest in the sport.

I know only a few great women fighters, but I don’t hear much about them. One of them is Ann Wolfe. She has a Mike Tyson punch, and everyone wants to see her fight Laila Ali. Another one is Christy Martin, Leititia Robinson, and Lucia Rijker. I think all of the best fighters should be able to have the opportunity to showcase their talent in fighting. It seems that some of them only had an opportunity to really be known because they were fighting Laila Ali.

It is said that Christy Martin put professional Women’s Boxing on the map. ESPN and Showtime started showing Women’s Boxing. Still, I did not know Christy Martin until she fought Laila Ali. Laila Ali is very well known more than any female boxer that there is. Some might say that it is because of her name, and some might say it is because of her boxing talent. I think it is because of her name and talent.

Women’s Boxing seems to have some struggles and obstacles. I believe that something can be done about it.
